5 Potato Recipes For Toddlers
1-Quick & Easy Potato Fries-
- Potatoes (2 medium, sliced lengthwise)
- Olive oil
- Black Pepper Powder (1 tsp)
- Cumin Powder (1tsp)
- Table salt ( 1 pinch)

Method Of Preparation-
- Pre-heat oven to 220 degree centigrade
- Take the sliced potatoes. It is optional to keep the skin or not as per your kid’s preference. Wash them under running water.
- Now spread the potato slices on the baking tray evenly.
- Spray 1-2 tbsp of olive oil on it and bake.
- Turn the side after few minutes.Bake it until they turn golden.
- Sprinkle cumin & black pepper powder along with a pinch of salt & serve to your little one!
2-Mashed Potato Dumplings-
- Potatoes (2 large, boiled & peeled)
- Onion (1 medium, chopped)
- Fresh Cilantro Leaves (finely chopped)
- Oil ( for deep frying)
- Cumin powder
- Black pepper powder
- Salt (1tsp)
- Chaat masala ( 1 tsp, optional)

Method of Preparation-
- Mix all the ingredients together and make a dough of it. Now from that dough, make lemon sized balls and press it horizontally.
- Heat oil in a pan, and over low flame deep fry these potato balls until they turn golden brown.
- Strain the excess oil and put on a blotting paper.
- Serve these with tomato sauce to your toddler!
3-Potato Stuffed Bread cutlets-
- Potatoes (2 medium, boiled & peeled)
- Cottage cheese (1/2 cup)
- Bread slices ( 4, corners removed)
- Salt (1 tsp)
- Oil (To fry)
- Cumin Powder (1tsp)
- Coriander Powder (1 tsp)

Method of Preparation-
- Mashed the boiled potatoes and scramble the cheese to mix them together. Add all the spices together with this mixture.
- Take one bread slice and dump it in water and quickly take it out. Squeeze the water with your palm. Now take a spoonful of the mashed potato mixture and put in the middle of the slice.
- Roll it in a round ball with the stuffing inside.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry these cutlets, round or oval that depends on your wish.
- Serve these with a dip or sauce to your toddler!
4-Mashed potato sandwich-
- Potatoes (2 medium, boiled and peeled)
- Onion (1 medium, chopped)
- Green Peas ( steamed & strained)
- Bread slices( 4, brown bread )
- Salt (1 tsp)
- Ground pepper powder
- Cumin powder
- Butter/Ghee
- Sandwich maker
Method Of Preparation-
- Firstly mash the potatoes, along with onion & green peas and other spices to make a mixture.
- Take a slice of brown bread and put the potato mash mixture. Then put another bread slice on top of it.
- Grease butter or ghee on either sides of the sandwich and put in the sandwich maker. Let it cook for a minute and switch the side.
- Take out with the help of tangs.
- Serve these with pizza sauce or any other sauce of your kid’s choice.
5- Potato Stuffed Parantha-
- Wheat flour ( kneaded into dough)
- Potatoes (2 large, boiled & peeled)
- Cilantro leaves (chopped)
- Onion (1 small, finely chopped)
- Cumin powder (1tsp)
- Black pepper powder (1tsp)
- Salt (1tsp)
- Butter/ghee to grease parantha

Method of preparation–
- Make a potato mash mixture by mixing all the spices, onion, cilantro together.
- Take a lemon sized ball from the dough and with the hel of your finger make a little space for the mashed potato stuffing to go in.
- Take a spoonful of potato mash and place it in the hole and with your hands cover the stuffing.
- Now on a flat surface with the help of a rolling pin, give it a round shape of parantha.
- On a medium flame place a tawa and cook the parantha. Grease it with butter or ghee and cook on both sides.
- Serve it to your toddler by cutting in small portions.
