"A bedtime routine worked for me. Establishing this helped my baby learn that night time was different to nap time. Swaddling helped too as he used to wake himself up with his jumpy arms and legs. With my little one I never encouraged leaving his crib area. The lack of stimulation works a dream. If he woke and cried and didn't want a bottle then I would sit by the crib and hold him. Gently shush and gently pat his back. The crying always stopped quite quickly and he would settle back to sleep easily. I may be just a lucky one but he still sleeps really well now at 10 months old."
