"I would recommend car seat tables, they have been a lifesaver for us! My daughter (who is 4) can do sticking and colouring and play with her fairies. My son (who is 2) will just zoom his cars up and down them. I put little packs together for each of them and bring a different activity out each hour to keep things entertaining and fresh. We also have a number of 'sing along' CD's and with my daughter we play 'spot the' and other games. We try and save the electronics until the last minute when all else is failing!"

"oh goodness. my first daughter dropped her afternoon nap for me at 16 months. She still napped for an hour at nursery until she was 2 years old. Littlest is now 12 months and has just dropped the morning nap so I'm hoping she will last longer than her big sister did. For me the signs were a refusal to get in the cot during the afternoon, culminating in a complete meltdown, pulling all her clothes off, tearing her nappy off and throwing it over the side of the cot... that was the day I gave up on the afternoon nap."

"I'm awful as I usually download educational games on the iPad and give them to my 3 year old to play. I also download her favourite tv programmes. If we don't use the iPad we go 'traditional' and play 'I spy' or we sing songs or just talk about our day, favourite toys, friends, etc. We also talk about what we are going to see when we get to wherever we are going and what we will do there."

"my three year old started this at about 18 months and still does it. It doesn't worry me much because I'm still a teeth grinder. I've tried gum shields but I just ground through them - my teeth seem fine though. The only thing that worries me is that for me I know it is normally a sign of stress and tension which means she must be stressed and tense too. :-("

"A really nice lightweight baby wrap which genuinely lets you place your baby in the car. I love the fact that the fleece isn't too thick which means I am happy to keep my baby girl in it through a wide range of weathers. I like to use it when we are in the buggy but it works very well in the car seat too (I've not yet tried it in the baby carrier, I'll admit). Perfect for spring and autumn when you're not sure what the weather will do!"
