For the last three weeks now we have had tears as soon as I go to leave pre-school from my daughter. She is excited to go and happy when we go in, and then the tears. I feel like an awful mum as I hand her over and leg it out. They say it lasts minutes and she is fine, and when I pick her up she is happy. Still it breaks my heart. Any thought - I never had this with the boys!
Hard one.. Just reassure her that she will have a great time and you will see her at the end of the day.. Have you asked her why she crys? xx
We had this for a long time with Joseph, perserverence is the only thing. I think teh crying is just a bit of a pavlovian response to being left they're not that upset. You could try leaving something of yours with her, a scarf or a purse, but to be honest I thin it just goes in time.
In my experience as a teacher, children always cheer up once the parents have left. I work hard to distract them at drop off time and we make sure there are activities straight away to keep them busy. I'm sure nursery are just the same but I know it doens't make it any easier. Luka's nursery have web cams so you can check on them but maybe just give them a call to make sure all is ok?
