I started offering Aron finger foods at 6 months and, like Walid, I gave him easily dissolvable items of food or foods he could suck on, i.e. rusks, cucumber, carrots etc. I've heard that a baby, up until one year has a certain reflex that actually lets them gag out the food to the front of the mouth, so use that chance to experiment! At 17 months old, I cannot begin to tell you how proficient at eating Aron is. He is fantastic at eating with his fingers and can use a knife and fork. So I really think finger foods, or baby led weaning is fantastic. Obviously, as you know, you don't offer things like blueberries or grapes etc unless you cut them up, but apart from that, I think, at 6 months, you can pretty much offer anything. We did and it paid off. Best of luck!
