What is Babyhuddle?

We all know that the best information is gotten through word of mouth from friends and family. This is especially true when you’re about to have your first baby. Babyhuddle is a social baby shop where parents can buy great baby products, share their knowledge on those products, prepare curated lists of products on topics of their choice, and answer each others questions. All this is done in a fun and supportive environment.

Is Babyhuddle free?

Yes, using Babyhuddle is absolutely free. It won’t cost you a penny unless you want to buy one of the awesome baby products you’ll find on the site. But apart from that becoming a member of the site, using tools and accessing useful content is free.

So why are you doing this?

Because when we found out we were pregnant with our first child we were at a complete loss regarding what products to get for the arrival of our little one, when to get those products, and how to use them. Whilst there’s a lot of websites out there, they can quickly overwhelm and confuse you. So, we built Babyhuddle as a resource for us and other parents to share their top tips on products, create awesome product lists and answer each other’s questions.

What can I do on Babyhuddle?

You can essentially do 4 things on Babyhuddle. You can: (1) buy great baby products, (2) write a review on products, (3) create lists of baby products on a topic of your choice, and (4) ask and answer questions.

Why use Babyhuddle?

There are many reasons for using Babyhuddle. You could use the site to find baby products at great prices. You can browse through the many baby lists other parents created or ask them that one question you need an answer to. You could also be all inspiring and share your wisdom by writing product reviews, curating lists of products and answering other parents’ questions. Go ahead and try it out and you’ll see how the community will love you for it and reward you with helpful votes and kind comments.

Is Babyhuddle only available in the UK?

No, Babyhuddle can be used anywhere in the world. However, our focus is on the UK at the moment. For example, you can use all of our tools but our products are only available for the UK.

How are you going to make money?

Babyhuddle is a participant in the Amazon EU Associate Programme. As such, whenever a product is bought via Babyhuddle, Amazon will give us a small revenue share.

Do you resell my personal details or content I’ve created?

Never! Just like yourself, we don’t like it when companies resell our personal details or “steal” the content we created. Thus we have a strict policy of not reselling your personal details. At some stages we may wish to resell or publish your content outside of Babyhuddle, however, we will do this without revealing any of your personal data. What do I need to get started?

If you are reading this then you’ve got all that is necessary to get started… ie. a web enabled device and an internet connection.

I have forgotten my password, what do I do?

Click on the “forgot my password” link and we will send you an email to your registered email address with the facility for you to reset your password.

How do I change my password?

You can easily change your password by going to your Account > Settings > Password. Click here if you want to change your password now.

I have forgotten my password and the email address I used for login is no longer valid. What can I do?

Please send us an email to info@babyhuddle.com with your request. Please ensure to include as much information as possible that will help us identify you including the email you originally used to register with. We will then contact you about validating your identity and updating your login email and password.

How long does it take to create a profile?

We found it took on average 15.39 seconds when testing it out with a few friends! (except for Wendy who was trying to change John’s diaper at the same time – she took a few minutes!).

Why should I tell you when I’m expecting a child and if I have children?

Because we’d love to celebrate it with you! In all seriousness, this information is useful for us to introduce you to other parents who are expecting a child around the same time. You guys could exchange tips between each other and make the whole experience more fun.

What will you do with my personal information?

First of all, as mentioned above we don’t resell your personal information or use it in any manner that would make you identifiable to other third parties. We use your personal information to recommend to you products and lists which we feel would be of interest to you, and in turn, personalize and tailor your experience to suit you.

How do I update my profile?

You can update your profile at any time. Simply go to your account page. You can update your default picture and any other information you have added to Babyhuddle.

Why should I tell you more about me?

Well, we’d love to get to you know better and it also enables us to recommend to you the most appropriate products, lists and questions.

Why should I tell you which town I live in?

Sharing this information means we can suggest other members to you who live in the same town as you. You never know, you may wish to organize children parties with Babyhuddlers living in your town.

How do I cancel my membership with Babyhuddle?

You can cancel your membership with Babyhuddle at any time by sending us an email to info@babyhuddle.com. We will feel sorry that you left and hope you’ll come back at a later stage.

What is that?

Notifications are used to keep you informed about recent activity that is relevant to you. For example you can receive an email to let you know when one of your lists has been commented or when one of your questions is answered.

I am getting too many emails from Babyhuddle. Can you help?

Yes, if you uncheck some of your notification settings you will receive less emails. Just go to the settings section on your account page.

What are tags?

Tags are keywords that you use to categorise information in the way you see fit. Example of tags for a baby bottle include: BPA free, Doesn’t leak, Easy to clean. This means that when you do a search on Babyhuddle, the products, lists, and questions that come up will be thanks to your tags.

Why should I use tags?

Tags are a great way for you to organise the products you’ve reviewed, the lists you’ve created and the questions you’ve asked.

Why should I create a review?

You know that feeling you get when you’re looking at numerous products and you don’t know which one to choose and you wished there was other parents who had shared their views on that product? When you create a review you’re not only airing your views on that product but you’re also helping countless parents build on your experience and choose whether or not to get that product, how to use it and when to use it. You’ll be a star and the community will surely reward you with helpful votes.

What do I need to provide to create a review?

Ideally tell us as much as you can on that product: Is it of a good build? Did it achieve what it was meant to? Was it reliable? Was it value for money? Finally don’t forget to add the appropriate tags to ensure the product is easily discovered and your star rating to say how good or poor the product is.

What is “suggest a product”?

Suggest a product is a cool functionality we’ve developed at Babyhuddle that enables you to add a product suggestion in a review. Let’s say, for example, that you’re reviewing a baby bottle. In your review you may want to suggest to parents to buy a bottle brush to go along with it.

Who will see my review?

Everyone will see your review and benefit from your views on a product.

Can I get in trouble for writing a bad review on a product?

No, you can’t get in trouble for writing a bad review. As long as your review is honest and doesn’t criticize the product using vulgarity or obscenity we will all value your review.

Why should I create a list?

Lists are one of the core elements of Babyhuddle that help new and existing parents discover recommended products. When you create a list, you are sharing your knowledge with the entire community and helping others learn from you about products that you have grouped together. You can also create a wish list of baby products you’d like friends and family to get you for your baby shower.

How do I create a list?

Creating a list is super easy. You can press the “create a list” button pretty much anywhere on the site. Or if you’d like, you can create a list as you a product to a list. When you add a product to a list you can choose to add the product to an existing list or to a new one. If you choose to create a new list please provide as much information as possible such as the list’s description and the primary and secondary categories the list belongs to. This information ensures that your list is easily discoverable by other users.

How do I add a product to a list?

All you need to do is press the “add to list” button on any product and you’ll have the choice to add the product to an existing list or to a new one.

How many products can I add to a list?

You can add as many products as you’d like. But we think about 20 products per list should be plenty. If you’d like to add more products why not consider regrouping them into other lists?

Who will see my list?

Everyone will see your list and learn from your expertise.

How do I comment?

Anyone can add a comment on any list. The purpose of adding a comment is to share your view on a babyhuddler’s list. To add a comment, simply add your text in the comment box and click “submit comment”. If you’d like to recommend a product for the user to add to their list, simply click on “suggest a product” and search for the product you’d like to recommend.

Why ask a question?

That is a good question! Well if you’d like an answer to your question, you’ll need to ask it. Don’t be shy, there’s no such thing as a stupid question. We’re all here to learn and help each other out and to have a great experience having children.

What kind of question can I ask?

You can ask pretty much any kind of question on Babyhuddle. To make it easier for you though, we’ve organized our questions in two types: product questions and topic questions. Product questions are specific to the product itself. Whilst a topic question could be on anything you want such as top tips for breastfeeding.

Who will see my question and answer it?

Everyone will see your question thus increasing the chances of receiving answers.

What do I do if my question isn’t answered correctly or not answered at all?

You obviously have an important question that needs to be answered. One way to find an answer is to look at who are the top users in the category to which your question belongs to. Then go to their profiles and ask the question onto their message board. If you do get an answer make sure you thank the user with a helpful vote.

How do I show my appreciation for an answer?

The easiest form of appreciation is a simple helpful vote on the answer. If you are feeling really really super duper appreciative, you could always buy them a new pram ;-)

What do I do if I find something abusive?

Whilst we do our best to monitor the website for inappropriate, abusive, or malicious use of the service, we rely on the community to help us identify them. If you have identified inappropriate, abusive or malicious use of the service please click on any of the “report it” buttons throughout the website. We will then investigate the matter and take the necessary steps.
